Con pan y vino se anda el camino

With bread and wine you can walk your road

Spanish Proverb

Gio reviews readily available wines from around the world, most under $15.00, in a straightforward, honest way. The wines to which Gio gives his highest recommendation are noted by the MUST TRY label. The wines which Gio recommends you avoid--and even drink water or Diet Coke, instead, when confronted with them--are noted by the RUN AWAY NOW label. This label is intended to save you the trouble--and the money.

The table of contents (at right) includes the following additional categories:

  • Color (red or white)
  • Country of origin
  • Short posts offering Gio's insights and wine tips
  • Region of origin
  • Varietal or official designation

Terraced vineyards above Monterosso al Mare, Cinque Terre, Liguria, Italy, one of the most beautiful places on earth. We've enjoyed the dry white wines native to the region, paired with pesto, a Ligurian specialty.
